Could I do this myself? Why is your baking such a good value?

Well, of course there are a few different ways to answer these questions.  The first speaks to time and experience.  What is your time worth in the workplace?  How much time would it take you to create one or more of these items?  Add to that number, the cost of the ingredients and the possibility of it not turning out "just right".  I have years of experience with most of these recipes, and I'd love to share those years of practice with you!

The second part of  the answer is quality.  I've recently graduated with my Food Handler's Certificate from the City of Winnipeg. I know how to keep your food safe, and I bake in a commercial kitchen.  (I'm soo cute in a hairnet!)  I don't use hydrogenated oils, and I use only the ingredients that you would use if you did the baking yourself. I choose high quality ingredients (this is what I feed MY family!), and strive to make everything as nutritious as I can. I support local suppliers, and I check labels & try to buy "Made in Canada" as much as I can.

If you aren't sure, read the testimonial page. And just so you know, this is important to me. I'm a perfectionist, and I want to make you happy! Repeat business and word-of-mouth advertising is the cornerstone of my business, and I endeavour to please those mouths!

Butter or Margarine?

The age-old question!  Always butter, never margarine!   Some things (muffins), use vegetable oil, and some things use applesauce.  But never margarine, and no trans fats.

Do you charge PST & GST?

My on-line cookie and squares sales are non-taxable since the minimum order quantity is 6 cookies. You must pay PST on confectionary items, though.

Do you keep my personal information confidential?

Your privacy is very important to us and therefore we keep your personal information confidential and only collect as much information required to complete your transactions.  Click here to read the privacy policy.

How do I order and pay for my selections?

When you click the photo of an item, you'll get a page with a photo, description, pricing, and packaging options for that item.  You can order in three ways:

  1. PayPal through this website.   Here is more information about that, and about PayPal.

  2. Keep track of the items you'd like, and send me an email, or
  3. Keep track of what you'd like, and telephone (204) 254-5427.
Option 2 & 3 are what you should use if you'd prefer to pay me directly at your door, with cash.  I'll be in contact with a final price if you're using these two options.  If you order on the website, you'll finish your transaction and pay at that time.

Could you bake a special family recipe for me?

Short answer - absolutely! Long answer - it might cost a bit more. I'd have to practice to do it well, and if I like the recipe, I might just add it to my lineup! Email me to discuss this.

Tell me about your nut allergy precautions:

I do not use nuts in most of my items (just one kind of Truffle coating!). There may, however, be a possibility of a "may contain" of which I am unaware.  Therefore, I cannot guarantee that you will not have a reaction to anything I bake.

Do you make any gluten-free, sugar-free or dairy-free items?

I will. As of this date, I'm working on perfecting the recipes. If you're interested in that, please send me an email - I'll concentrate on getting that together faster if I know I have interest for it.

What's so different about your boxes?

I searched for a long time to find 100% recycled fibre boxes. The brown and green "EnviroMint" boxes are recycled, re-useable, recyclable, and made in Portland, Oregon. This box is elegant without need of any embellishments. It's appropriate for holidays, or everyday occasions. These cost just $1.00 more when you buy 12 cookies, and with them, you get a thirteenth goody in a cellophane wrapper, for you to try.

There are festive truffle boxes, in four different designs. They're great for fudge, truffles or sucre à la crème. Each confection piece is placed in a tiny muffin cup, for both protection and presentation.

There are also white cookie and truffle boxes for everyday orders. Their price is always included in your order.
In both of the large cookie boxes, I wrap your items in a piece of waxed paper in the box, to protect the cookies, and keep them fresher, longer.
